Confession of Judgments
You may have just been sued in a Confession of Judgment action or want to sue someone using a Confession of Judgment. A Confession of Judgment is a unique clause or term of a commercial contract that few attorneys understand how to defend against or enforce in court. Generally, a Confession of Judgment can be defined as a clause or term in a commercial contract in which a debtor agrees to allow a creditor, usually upon the alleged nonoccurrence of a payment or other breach of contract, to obtain a judgment against a debtor, often without advanced notice or a trial or a hearing. We represent both Creditors and Debtors in Confession of Judgment litigation throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. If you find yourself to be a party to any lawsuit involving a Confession of Judgment, it is advised that you retain legal counsel for a consultation immediately.
Landlord Tenant and Ejectments
Since Covid, Landlord-Tenant Eviction and Ejectment law has become so complicated that each Landlord should retain legal counsel for a consultation before commencing a Landlord-Tenant Eviction or Ejectment, especially in Philadelphia. The Law Offices of Jon Taylor, Esquire, PC represents almost exclusively Landlords in the City of Philadelphia for these matters and has earned the necessary skill sets to navigate the Landlord-Tenant or Ejectment process. In this practice area, we typically charge Flat Fees rather than hourly rates for legal services.
Sheriff's Sale Postponements
We can not guarantee that a Sheriff's Sale of a person's real property will be postponed forever or even once. However, the firm can advise you on possible options in such a situation. It is recommended that anyone who owns real property that is scheduled for a Sheriff's Sale contact legal counsel immediately for a consultation. We practice this area of law exclusively in Philadelphia.
Civil Litigation
We routinely litigate civil litigation cases, filing pleadings and/or attending court hearings or trials for our clients, often on an emergency basis ranging from small claims to complex litigation matters. If you are a defendant in a lawsuit or believe you have grounds to sue somebody, it is advised that you contact legal counsel to discuss your options.
Real Estate Transactions and Loan Documents
We have extensive experience in real estate transactions, from drafting deeds to navigating subdivisions and the creation of condominiums. This area can dovetail into other transaction areas which include the drafting and review of commercial loan documentation or real estate sales agreements and commercial and consumer leases.
Wills and Estates and Probate
The administration of a deceased person's Estate can be complicated. Although laypeople commonly argue that legal representation is unnecessary to administer an Estate, it is prudent to contact legal counsel to discuss the Estate administration process before commencement. We have extensive experience in probate, especially where the Estate has no will or is intestate, and we have probated hundreds of Estates since the firm's formation in 2012.
